Science Cafe: The Science of Sleep

Event Date:
Wednesday, March 14, 2012 - 6:30pm

Join the "Science Buzz" for an animated discussion and happy hour about the science of sleep with experts in the field.

Why are we all so tired? What role does sleep play in helping us lead healthy, productive lives? If we need it so badly, why don’t we prioritize it or even talk about it – with our physicians or in a public health context?

Learn the answers to these questions and more by attending this interactive discussion, sponsored by the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.

Tickets are $10, or $7 for students, and can be purchased at the door. Food, wine, and beer are free with the admission fee.

Advance ticket purchase is strongly recommended. For tickets, contact the Koshland Science Museum at (202) 334-1201 or ksm@nas.edu. Please see [here] for full ticketing policy.

Participants must be 21 or older to consume beer or wine. Proper ID, such as a driver's license or state-issued ID card, is required to consume alcohol, and must be shown to museum staff upon entrance to the program.
